NIBONG TEBAL: An Iraqi, who is taking a doctorate at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in electronic engineering, was charged in the Magistrate Court here Friday with reckless driving and causing the death of a student at the university, Fadilah Abdul Halim, 27, last Thursday.
Hamood Sheehab Hamid, 45, was charged with committing the offence driving in a reckless and dangerous manner, under section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, at the traffic light exit to USM, at Jalan Transkrian about 9.45am.
Hamood Sheehab Hamid, 45, at the Nibong Tebal magistrate’s court on Friday
However, no plea was recorded because Hamood could neither understand English nor Malay
He neither understands English or Bahasa.. and yet he is taking PHD in engineering at USM? does that not raise questions? While we all poor mortals have to pass Bahasa to get a chance to APPLY for the university, this dude is taking up ONE PHD student’s space in a local university and he could not understand english or Bahasa.
GREAT!
What kind of students are we producing from the universities? Types like this!
Fantastic country this is. Just Fastastic.

Well, he may have ulterior motives but after the article about him not being able to understand english, TheStar also published an article with a lot of USM students saying that they DO NEED to know english.
And this fellow has a few English publication.
Maybe he has left the country.
