Guard who shot robber dead detainedKUALA LUMPUR: The security guard who shot dead a robber at the Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall on Monday has been remanded until Jan 10.
It is learnt that the 21-year-old man was being investigated under Section 304 of the Penal Code for culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
Sources said the guard had opened fire on the robber who was unarmed.
In the incident on Monday, the 29-year-old robber was looking at RM3,000 gold necklace when he suddenly bolted out of the shop.
A scuffle ensued between him and the security guard and he was shot in the back of the neck when he tried to escape through an emergency staircase. He was found clutching on to the necklace when he died.
Remember the girl who accidentally killed the snatch thief who took her purse? Accidentally killed because it was a vehicle accident when she could not brake in time. Well, they charge her for murder.
Now, a thief got shot. Guard gets charged for murder.
Shouldn’t we praise these people from removing the bad guys from the gene pool? You commit a crime, expect bad things to happen to you. It is what I would call it, occupational hazards.
If the police have been going their job well, this man would not have been killed. If the government have done it job well, this man would not need to steal.
Pity the guard. If he did not do anything, he will be investigated to make sure that he is not part of the scam.. they will ask why he didn’t take action. Now that he has taken action, they say he is a murderer. I would wonder too then what is the right thing to do?

Overreact are no better than ignorance. When the guard point the gun, did he learn that the firearm will endanger the passerby life?
He might do the right things, but did it do the thing right by shooting the thieve on neck level?
What if this extend to police who open fire in crowd public place? When you catch/kill a thief while taking life of many , how do you justify it? A good things?

since no one got hurt (other than the thief), i gave him the benefit of a doubt that the guard knew what he was doing. Maybe he gave chase and didn’t shoot the thief at the shop because there were too many people around it. Whatever it is, the thief should consider it as an occupational hazard. When you do crime, prepare to pay.. sometimes you get cheated and have to pay more.
